FAQ's
Many people confuse the terms "essential oil" and "fragrance oil" because of the frequent incorrect practice of using these terms interchangeably. However, essential oils and fragrance oils are different in a number of ways. Although both types of oil can sometimes be used for the same purposes, they are chemically different, priced differently and possess different properties.
Essential Oils
Essential oils are natural products extracted in a number of ways from plants; however, all plants do not contain essential oils. Essential oils extracted from plants contain aromatic properties used as remedies for a number of problems. Essential oils are used in aromatherapy practice to help ease muscle pain, emotional problems, menstrual issues, skin problems, arthritis and more, according to author Julia Lawless in her book "Illustrated Encyclopedia of Essential Oils."
Fragrance Oils
Fragrance oils are synthetic products and therefore do not possess the natural healing properties of essential oils. Fragrance oils are essentially a "pleasant" aroma, and many modern perfumes are created using fragrance oils. It is possible to create almost any aroma in a fragrance oil, unlike an essential oil, which is extracted from a plant.
Chemical Components of Fragrance Oils
Fragrance oils are not volatile because they are synthetically made; therefore, fragrance oils usually last longer than essential oils. The range of fragrance oils is a lot wider than essential oils because almost any fragrance can be made in a laboratory. Fragrance oils may contain a certain percentage of essential oils, but they are not completely natural, like essential oils.
Price of Essential Oils
Essential oils vary considerably in price, depending on the type, season and availability. Some essential oils, such as rose and sandalwood, are always expensive because of the complex and timely extraction processes involved. If rose essential oil is cheaply priced, it is most likely adulterated, a common practice used by some suppliers to create a higher profit margin while supplying a "fake" product. Citrus essential oils are usually inexpensive because of the ease of extraction.
Price of Fragrance Oils
Fragrance oils are much cheaper than essential oils because of the ease at which they are synthetically made; almost any aroma is available as a fragrance oil. Examples of fragrance oils that cannot be extracted in essential oil format include banana, strawberry, melon, apple, blueberry pie and hot fudge cake.
Uses of Essential Oils and Fragrance Oils.
Essential oils are often used in aromatherapy practice for their therapeutic properties. In addition, essential oils are used in perfumes, body products, soaps, detergents and as flavorings in food and alcohol. Fragrance oils are commonly used in soaps, perfumes and body lotions, and are favorites of craft makers thanks to the variety of fragrances available. They are cheaper than essential oils and they last longer.
Does the thickness of the oil affect the quality or scent intensity of the oil ?
No.Thickness or thinness has absolutely nothing to do with oil quality or scent intensity. For example, Egyptian Musk is traditionally the thickest oil, but has a very mild fragrance.  In contrast, Sudanese Coconut has a very thin consistency, but also has an extremely strong fragrance.  The notion that thicker oil is synonymous with more intensely scented oil is a misconception. Only a handful of oils are thick, while most oils have a thin consistency.
What is the difference between Perfume Oils , Fragrance Oils & Body oils ?
Unfortunately, all of these descriptions have been used to describe one single product, which has created confusion for the consumer.  There are basically two types of oil. The first type is any oil that can be used on the body. The second type is oil that is not meant for the body and must be used only for another primary use (for example, creating candles and soaps).  Unfortunately, many oils that are not meant for the body are being sold as body oils. Though these oils will usually not cause any harm to the body, they are cheap and made of an inferior grade of oil.  The consumer should not be concerned with the description or identification of the oil.  The emphasis should instead be on knowing whether the oil is meant for the body.
Why does the color of oil seem to change from time to time ?
Depending on the season, oils will differ in color because of the crop season; since most oils have natural ingredients, the time of year they are created will have bearing on the color.  For example, an apple grown in May is not going to have the same color as an apple grown in December.
What is the Shelf life of your oils ?
Since our oils do not contain any alcohol or water, the problem of evaporation does not exist.  As long as the oils are kept away from extreme heat and sunlight, they will last an extremely long time.  The only detail that may change is the color.  Some oils even develop a deeper scent over time, which is called marrying or maturing.  We have had oils here for over ten years, and they still maintain their richness and strength.
Why is Quality is so important now ?
Quality always sells regardless of how the economy is faring. People always remember and appreciate quality even if it may cost a bit more. During the last few months, many fragrance companies have closed their doors since they could not generate enough sales to cover their overhead costs. The demand for their products was not great enough in these tough times. This is why we emphasize quality; because quality sells today, tomorrow, and forever. When you combine quality with a reliable price it is a winning combination that cannot be beaten. Never compromise quality in exchange for saving a few dollars or you will pay in the long run. Let the quality of the product sell itself, and you will always be successful.
How long will my Body Oil’s scent last?
That all depends on how much you are wearing, what are you doing while wearing it, your unique body type, air temperature,Â
humidity, and the fragrance itself. Because our oils are 100% pure oil, you can expect it to last a good while.

Â
I requested a fragrance from you. How long will that take?
Once a fragrance has been requested it is added to a list of potential new fragrances for our Research and Development Department.Â
They take those to decide which fragrances are feasible to reproduce.Â
This depends on the popularity of the fragrance and the availability of the ingredients needed to recreate it. This process can take weeks or months.Â
The fragrances that we decide to add will be included in the new fragrances emails sent.Â
Â
Do I need to add anything to the body oils to make it safe for the skin?
Some of our customers do and others do not. The Fragrance and Body Oils are already cosmetic grade so it is not necessary to do so unless you are sensitive to the Oil. The essential oils however will usually need to be diluted with fractionated coconut oil or jojoba oil before using topically.
